You are Fall

You feel familiar

thus your abrupt appearance

we cannot unnoticed

A whisper on the breeze

A change on the leaves

That is how we know you have appeared

A rustle in the air

And nothing is as it appears

for your color disappears

I can’t stop marveling

your majestic surroundings

and here I go again

The leaves are gathered
The staleness is pressed

And despite the rain

the steps among your ground

feels of youth

and the hands steady holds

the bowed beauty and truth of

life
To walk your fields

through the eyes that holds them tight

for fear of crashing through the gears

of yet another year
yet you come and go
But I’m sure I know
your name
